Esoteric, or Soul’s Purpose Astrology is based on the premise that your Higher Self, or Soul chose its exact time, circumstances and place to come into this human existence in accordance with its Master Plan. The Natal chart is the blueprint, the map to that purpose.

The personality chosen by the Soul is also part of the Master Plan and is correctly described by orthodox astrology, which answers questions about our everyday lives. When we begin to seek on a higher level, when we consciously decide to align with our Soul, to understand our higher purpose, the New Astrology or Soul’s Purpose Astrology automatically becomes operative.

Although we are calling it the “New” Astrology, this astrology is one of the Wisdom Traditions of the ancients. Orthodox (or exoteric, outer) astrology was that given to the common people, while Esoteric (inner, spiritual) astrology was used by the priests and initiates, but with the idea that sometime in the future, it would be suitable for more people. Madame Blavatsky and Alice Bailey were the first “modern day” people to receive and write about the ancient knowledge over 100 years ago. Dr. Douglas Baker then furthered their work and has written over 100 books on the Wisdom Traditions, with an emphasis on the astrological key, modernizing it and becoming the Master of Esoteric Astrology on the planet today.

Astrology is NOT FATE! God, Spirit, the Great Creator, whatever you choose to call the Highest Power, gave us Free Will for a reason. Every symbol and aspect in an astrological chart has more than one meaning. We always have a choice as to how that aspect manifests in this lifetime. The title of this page is key to the understanding of all things esoteric or spiritual. As we evolve spiritually, so do our earthly lives change. As our lives change, so does our evolution escalate (or deteriorate). Therefore, how the earthly life unfolds is a direct clue to our spiritual evolution. This is not an attempt to place blame on ourselves, rather an attempt to understand the meanings of our lives. The more conscious we become, the more aware we are of our place in the Universe, the better chance we have at evolving into our full potential. Understanding the choices placed before us, understanding our potential, is the goal of Esoteric Astrology.
